January 4, 2007  Mazatlan Mexico

What a great day! Beautiful scenery, nice people!

You exit the ship and take the tram (see Mazatlan Cruise Terminal here) Tony is standing in the courtyard of the terminal, holding the pink sign (Photo 1) and  Randi is in one of the chairs holding court (P2). Eventually, everyone is gathered together and we all walk out to the street and board the waiting jitneys (P3) for the ride to the water taxi dock. The water taxi takes you over to Stone Island where you are picked up by Randi's custom stretch limo (P8-10), which gives you an island tour on the way to get to the horses. After a brief stop at the casa, final restroom break, hold the baby chicks (sorry that photo didn't work) and what not, people are asked about riding experience, horses are assigned, everyone gets a leg up and we were on our way. The ride is mostly an out and back along a beautiful stretch of beach (p11-30) with guides intermingled with the riders. Some people rode fast and I rode slow. I wasn't in a hurry, and that way the ride lasted longer. Tony said my horse was lazy and we'd fit together. Hmmm, astute judge of character, that Tony. At the turn around point, the guides took photos for those desiring them. Continued on page 2.

A young lady, stopped and got off of her horse to pick up some things someone else had dropped. Her horse got upset and ran off, so here are the guides trying to corral the horse.

I dropped my lens cap, and one of the guides got it for me, so I didn't chance that.
